About the event

AWS State, Local, and Education Learning Day is a one day, in-person event where attendees can access Amazon Web Services (AWS) training sessions, get one-on-one support with experts, collaborate with peers, and practice their skills in workshops.


Learn about a range of topics tailored to your needs and use cases, including artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML), data and analytics, application modernization, security and governance, and more.


A collaboration space will be open all day with opportunities to engage 1:1 with AWS experts and  AWS Partners and collaborators. 


Complimentary breakfast, lunch, snacks, and refreshments will be provided.

Who should attend

AWS Learning Day is recommended for state and local government, education, and healthcare IT professionals, executives, and practitioners.

 
No experience with AWS is required.

 

Get started today with a no-cost, self-paced online course, AWS Foundations: Getting Started with the AWS Cloud Essentials, to build your cloud knowledge. Attendees who seek an overall understanding of AWS Cloud are recommended to take this course prior to the event.

Check in from 8:00 - 9:00 AM to get your badge, have a light breakfast, and network with fellow attendees.

 

Programming will begin with a Keynote speaker and fireside chat (9:00 - 10:00 AM) for all attendees, after which you will be invited to attend sessions across the four tracks, outlined below.


Choose from tracks that best fit your cloud educational needs. You'll be able to attend as many sessions as you wish and you are welcomed and encouraged to move between tracks throughout the day. 


Each track, with the exception of the Executive Track, which is designed for leaders and decision makers in state and local governments and education, will feature a hands-on-laptop workshop in the afternoon. Please plan to bring your laptop.

 

Note that each track is first-come, first-served and seating is limited.

This session will cover cyber trends across government and education sectors, and how organizations are working to overcome these issues by applying best practices and leveraging collective defenseCloud computing plays an increasingly critical role in improving organizational efficiencies, constituents experience, and fostering innovation. This learning track is strategy and vision-oriented and does not require technical background.

In this session, we will also discuss the intentional actions that will ensure the development, deployment and use of AI are done in a responsible manner.

Public sector organizations recognize the transformative potential of generative AI, yet many face challenges in building the foundational infrastructure needed for successful AI implementation. A critical success factor is establishing a robust data strategy that enables accurate AI solutions. This session explores how organizations can develop the essential data building blocks for AI readiness - from data modernization strategies to infrastructure considerations - while avoiding common pitfalls that can impact AI outcomes.

Have you experienced a project stall or failure, due to people's resistance to change?
